Unity Discernment Planning Meetings

Summary
In order to create the kind of community that accurately reflects our beliefs and values, we enlisted some help. Rev. Jenny Smith facilitated a process of discernment designed to help heal some of the loss we experienced over the last decade and figure out how we would like to move forward.

Our congregation participated and their input was greatly needed and appreciated. Eight sessions were held from March 7- June 11, 2023. Dozens attended as many sessions as they could. Each session was focused on a new topic about our church's future.

In September 2023,  we held a Discernment Meeting Summary and Lunch. The Board reviewed the action items and progress on take-aways from the Discernment Meetings. Two committees of volunteer congregants were formed; one focused on Marketing and Media and the other on Fundraising initiatives. The teams meet monthly and report back to the Board on project progress.
