Mindfulness Meditation Class

Lonnie Dalrymple
, Mindfulness Meditation Instructor, former board member, and congregant of Everett Unity will be teaching a four week Mindfulness Meditation class. Your generous love offering is gratefully accepted.

DATE: Thursdays, February 2-23
TIME: 7:00-8:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Church Social Hall

In this four-week training we will discuss the proven benefits of a mindfulness practice and learn the basic structure of Mindfulness Meditation. If you can only attend one class, you will still learn how to practice Mindfulness Meditation while sitting and walking. If you can make it to more than one class, you will have the opportunity to discuss how the previous week of practice went, share in supporting and cheering for each other and their progress through this experience. We will continue to add to the information each week so that at the end of four weeks you will have a good foundation for your own practice and growth.
About the instructor.   I have been a member of Unity in Everett for at least 20 years. In October of 2021 I began an intensive five-month training to become a certified Mindfulness meditation instructor. Like many, mindfulness and mindfulness meditation has long been an interest of mine. I have done quite a bit of self-study. So, I had some threads of knowledge.  I needed a foundation to build my personal practice on and the training I received in this class gave me all that and more.

It was an amazing experience to be immersed with other students from around the world, and teachers who are well known to Mindfulness practitioners. Now I know what techniques Brain Scientists and Psychologists (and others who study the effects of Mindfulness Meditation) are talking about when instructing a group of subjects to practice  Mindfulness meditation for 30 days, etc. so they can measure the effects of the practice on our emotions, our mental health and our happiness.
